If you choose to make a website and you are stuck between using a general template or a professional website template then think of what your decision would be if you don’t have to pay for the professional template. There are some that you can find that look as if they have been customized for your site, but are actually regular, generic designs that you don’t have to pay for. If yours needs to be customized and you don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for it, then don’t worry about the price. You can get some customized for little to nothing.
The great thing about using professional website templates is that it is designed around your product, theme, layout etc. You have all of the freedom to have whatever kind of template that you want and this may draw more readers into what you’re selling or simply writing about. First, look at what you’re presenting to base your template decision off of. Is it a product, theme, opinion piece, etc? When you can look at the purpose of your writing or product it may be easier for you to decide what kind of template it is that you want to use.

Although, you may grow to have a very steady fan base, the price of getting one customized for you doesn’t really fit into the realm of blog writing – that is, unless you are making a significant amount of money for selling a product through your writing. Believe it or not, WordPress has some fantastic templates that you don’t have to purchase and there are various themes, colors and sizes to choose from.
Writing calls for more of a topic theme then a design theme – although, it really contributes to the fan base when you have a page that looks like you’ve put a lot of effort into it. When fans know that you truly care about your writing and your presentation, they may be more willing to visit your blog consistently. What kind of a fan base are you attracting and will they care about the look of your page? Most will not, but most will be more likely to visit it if you can catch the readers’ attention.
Products and Templates
If you are selling a product and you want to attract customers, versus readers, then it is highly recommended that you choose professional website templates instead. The customers will take your product and your effort more seriously if you aren’t afraid to make it look professional. Just like anything, presentation is going to sell more so than if there was not any effort being put into the look of things. To benefit from a product you have to invest a little bit of money and time into catching the attention of others who may be investing in you and what you’re selling.
